“Maybe our opinion doesn’t matter” – Alisson expresses concern over new UCL format
Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has voiced his concerns about the new UEFA Champions League format.
The latest format of the UCL will debut on Tuesday, with teams across Europe battling for the final.
Meanwhile, speaking about changes in the elite league, Alisson acknowledged it appeal to fans but pointed out that players were not consulted on the additional workload.
“For the supporters, amazing. But sometimes nobody asks the players what they think about adding more games.
” Maybe our opinion doesn’t matter at all,” said the Brazilian shot-stopper.
The nrw competition will now feature 36 teams, with each club playing eight matches in a league-style format before knockout rounds.
This change will increase the total number of games in the tournament from 125 to 189, raising concerns about players fatigue amid local tournaments.
