Bundesliga: Victor Boniface shines with double in Leverkusen’s 4-1 win over Hoffenheim
Bayer Leverkusen returned to winning ways with a stunning 4-1 win against Hoffenheim, thanks to Victor Boniface’s brace.
This is Leverkusen’s first win after their first loss in 15 months.
The German giants took control early, with Martin Terrier opening the scoring in the 17th minute. The forward finished a quick counter-attack, assisted by Boniface.
Minutes later, Boniface doubled their lead with a powerful strike from just inside the box in the 30th minute.
Hoffenheim responded through Mërgim Berisha in the 37th minute, briefly raising hopes of a comeback.
However, a second goal from Berisha was ruled offside, keeping Leverkusen’s 2-1 lead intact at halftime.
In the second half, Wirtz extended their lead to 3-1 with a penalty in the 72nd minute, and Boniface sealed the win just three minutes later with his second goal.
