Owa Obokun of Ijesaland joins his ancestors

The Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Adekunle Aromolaran, has passed away after ruling the Ijesa Kingdom for over four decades.

In a brief tribute, the Asiwaju of Ijesaland, Chief Olayinka Fasuyi, revealed that the monarch passed on Wednesday after a short illness.

Oba Adekunle ascended the throne on February 20, 1982, from the Aromolaran family, and ruled for 42 years.

Reports indicate that security personnel, including uniformed policemen and DSS operatives, have been deployed to the palace.
