Official: Mbappe denied bid to recover €55m unpaid salary from PSG
Kylian Mbappé’s attempt to claim €55 million in unpaid wages and bonuses from Paris Saint-Germain has been denied.
This was confirmed after the ruling by Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP).
The 25-year-old French forward, who joined Real Madrid on a free transfer this summer, sought the payment after his departure from PSG, but the commission has instead ordered mediation between the player and his former club.
The dispute dates back to Mbappé’s 2022 contract renewal with PSG, where it was agreed that certain bonuses would be waived if he left on a free transfer.
Mbappé has since argued that PSG still owes him the money, leading to his appeal to the LFP.
PSG have expressed satisfaction with the ruling, emphasizing the player’s previous commitments to waive certain financial benefits.
The club has been advocating for mediation for months and sees this outcome as a victory.
Meanwhile, Mbappé could pursue the matter in an employment tribunal, though such a process could take over two years, according to talkSPORT.
Alternatively, he could drop the case altogether.
Mbappé enjoyed significant success at PSG, winning six Ligue 1 titles and multiple domestic cups before joining Real Madrid.
