Davido performs in Ethiopia as they usher in New Year
Afrobeat sensation Davido took centre stage in Ethiopia as the country celebrated the arrival of the New Year of 2017.
In Ethiopia, it is widely known that the birth of Jesus Christ is recognized as occurring seven or eight years later than in the Gregorian, or “Western,” calendar. As a result, New Year, or Enkutatash, is celebrated annually on September 11, or September 12 during a leap year.
Davido’s performance was a highlight of the vibrant celebrations, with fans enthusiastically embracing his energetic set, adding to the excitement of the holiday.
Speaking on the event, Davido wrote: “Ethiopia last night was amazing !!”
Nigerians humorously reacted to the viral video, joking that it seemed like the singer had travelled back in time to perform.
