Barcelona are preparing to offer Frenkie de Jong a new contract despite recent interest from Bayern Munich.

Reports suggest Bayern had identified de Jong as a target earlier in the summer, but their interest faded as the transfer window progressed.

Manchester United also made inquiries, though they never pursued a serious move for the player.

With de Jong’s future uncertain, Barcelona are keen to extend his stay, but at a reduced salary compared to his current deal.

However, de Jong has reportedly shown little interest in renewing his contract, having ignored an offer from the club last November.
