Raheem Sterling chooses No. 30 shirt at Arsenal, snubs No. 10
Raheem Sterling has opted not to wear the iconic number 10 shirt at Arsenal, as was widely anticipated.
Instead, the 29-year-old will don the number 30 shirt following his deadline-day loan move from Chelsea.
Sterling, who joined Arsenal on a season-long loan, was initially expected to take over the number 10 jersey after Emile Smith Rowe’s departure to Fulham.
However, Arsenal confirmed that Sterling will sport the number 30 shirt instead.
The England international made the switch after losing his number 7 shirt at Chelsea to new signing Pedro Neto.
Despite the change in shirt number, Sterling is expected to play a crucial role in Mikel Arteta’s squad once the Premier League resumes after the international break.
