EPL: Isak’s late strike seals 2-1 win for Newcastle against Tottenham

Newcastle United continued their unbeaten start to the Premier League with a dramatic 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur at St James’ Park.

The Magpies capitalized on Tottenham’s missed chances, with Alexander Isak’s strike securing all three points for the hosts.

Despite the pressure from Tottenham, it was Newcastle who took the lead in the first half. Lloyd Kelly, making a strong run down the left, delivered a ball into the box, which Harvey Barnes expertly volleyed into the far corner.

Tottenham, led by manager Ange Postecoglou, pushed for an equalizer but struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.

Their best chance came from Pape Matar Sarr, who forced a save from Nick Pope with a long-range effort.

The second half saw Postecoglou make changes to his attacking lineup, bringing on Brennan Johnson.

Spurs equalized through an own-goal by Dan Burn, before Isak sealed the win for the Magpies.
