Late registration to stop Ugarte from featuring for Man United vs Liverpool
Manchester United’s new £50 million signing, Manuel Ugarte, will not feature in the highly anticipated clash against Liverpool this Sunday.
Despite being signed from Paris Saint-Germain on Deadline Day, Ugarte was not registered in time to play this weekend.
According to Premier League rules, new signings must be registered by 12pm on the Friday before a match to be eligible for that weekend’s games.
Unfortunately, Ugarte’s paperwork was finalized after the cutoff, ruling him out of the blockbuster fixture.
This means the Uruguayan midfielder will have to wait until after the international break to make his debut for the Red Devils.
His first opportunity to don the United shirt will now likely come on September 14, when the team faces Southampton.
