Mourinho’s Fenerbahce secure Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina

Fenerbahce have officially signed Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat on loan from Fiorentina, with option to make the move permanent.

The Turkish Super Lig club announced the deal on Saturday, just days before their transfer window closes on September 13.

The agreement sees Fenerbahce paying Fiorentina a €2 million loan fee, with an option to buy Amrabat outright for an additional €13 million at the end of the season.

Fenerbahce welcomed their new player with a statement expressing hopes for a successful future.

“We wish our new player a career full of titles in the yellow and blue striped jersey.”

Fiorentina also extended their gratitude to the 29-year-old midfielder, who played a crucial role in the early part of their season.

“Thank you for your professionalism, Sofyan, shown until the 120th minute in your final match with the lily on your chest,” the club remarked, referring to Amrabat’s efforts in the Europa Conference League play-off against Puskas Akademia.

Amrabat’s move to Turkey comes after spending the previous season on loan to Manchester United, where he made 30 appearances across all competitions, including 21 in the Premier League.

His time in Italy has seen him rack up 85 Serie A appearances with Fiorentina and Hellas Verona.
