An emotional video of Onyeka Onwenu’s body being carried by pallbearers in traditional Isi Agu attire has moved many hearts and gone viral on social media.
The poignant footage, which shows the late legendary singer being transported from the church, has sparked emotional responses from many viewers.
Onwenu, affectionately known as the “Elegant Stallion,” passed away on July 30, 2024, at Reddington Hospital in Ikeja, following a collapse at an event honoring Dr. Stella Okoli, Managing Director of Emzor Pharmaceuticals.
Her sudden death has shocked fans who celebrated her extensive contributions as a singer, writer, politician, broadcaster, activist, and actress.
The funeral service is being held today at the Fountain of Life Church in Ilupeju, with a private burial to follow at a vault in Ikoyi.
Onyeka Onwenu, who was 72 years old, is survived by her two sons.
