Transfer: Manchester United open talks with Chelsea for Sterling-Sancho swap deal

Manchester United have reportedly opened talks with Chelsea over a potential swap deal involving Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho.

According to The Athletic, United are keen to bring Sterling to Old Trafford, while Chelsea could welcome Sancho to Stamford Bridge.

Sterling, 29, has fallen out of favor at Chelsea under manager Enzo Maresca, leading to speculation about his future.

Meanwhile, Sancho has struggled to find consistency at United and has been linked with a move away, with Juventus also expressing interest.

The potential swap deal would see both players move to new clubs in search of more regular playing time.

Sterling, who has three years remaining on his Chelsea contract, is reportedly on a £325,000-per-week salary, which could complicate negotiations.

Sancho’s wages, on the other hand close to £300,000 per week, may also need adjustment to fit Chelsea’s wage structure.

Sterling has previously expressed his admiration for Manchester United, revealing that he was a “massive” fan of the club as a child.
