EPL: Haaland sinks newly promoted Ipswich with season’s first hat-trick in 4-1 thriller

Erling Haaland continued his devastating form with a hat-trick as Manchester City came from behind to secure a 4-1 win against Ipswich Town.

The Premier League newcomers shocked the champions early on when Sammie Szmodics slotted the ball under Ederson just seven minutes into the match.

This gave Ipswich a surprise lead. However, their joy was short-lived as Manchester City quickly regained control.

Haaland equalized just five minutes later, converting a penalty to bring the scores level.

Kevin De Bruyne then found the back of the net to extend City’s tally to three before halftime.

Despite Ipswich’s efforts to stay competitive, Haaland sealed the victory with his third goal late in the game, completing his first hat-trick of the season.

The win sees Manchester City maintain their perfect start to the season as they continue their title defense top of the table.
