‘My body needs rest’ – Bellingham speaks out after foot injury

Jude Bellingham has opened up about his recent injury setback, which will see him sidelined until after the international break.

The Real Madrid midfielder is dealing with a foot injury (plantar fasciitis) that will force him to miss this weekend’s La Liga match against Real Valladolid, as well as two UEFA Nations League games with England in September.

The injury comes as a blow to both club and country, as Bellingham will miss at least three club matches, spanning before and after the international break.

The setback adds to a series of injury issues that have plagued the 20-year-old since the start of 2024, including shoulder and ankle problems.

Taking to social media, Bellingham expressed his frustration, saying, “Nothing I hate more than missing games but trying to see the positives.

“Maybe my body is telling me it needs to rest a bit more after a busy year.”

Despite his irritation at being unable to play, Bellingham remains optimistic, adding, “I’m frustrated, but I’ll be supporting the lads like a fan, until I can rejoin them with my best and strongest form.”
