“Another hero has gone down by bandits. Oh God, we pray for mercy and your comfort to the entire family. Our hearts are bleeding, Lord,” wrote Lucy Adadevoh in a heartfelt Facebook post on Sunday, August 11, 2024.

Genesis Kaboshio Akau, another close acquaintance, reminisced about their time together at Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria. ”

My beloved predecessor back then in ABU Zaria, a very dedicated organist who loved God. As troubleless as he was, I was surprised to hear he joined the Nigerian Army. From Maiduguri to Lagos, and then Niger State… Unfortunately, I heard the sad story of your departure from this realm of life. You lost your younger sister, elder brother, and now you are gone. May the LORD comfort us all… We’ll miss you dearly, beloved Captain Ibrahim Yohana (Presido Commando). Sai mu zo.”

Eric Katanga, another mourne wrote:

“Since yesterday, I was hoping to get another call to hear that it was a mistake of identity, but then we are left with no choice than to accept reality. Rest on brother. Rest on Captain Ibrahim Yohana.”
