Paris 2024 Olympics: France advances to men’s football semi-finals with 1-0 win over Argentina

France men’s football team have booked their ticket for the semi-finals at the Paris 2024 Olympics, beating Argentina 1-0.

The quarter-final clash which took place in Bordeaux on Friday night, saw a lone goal from Jean-Philippe Mateta make the difference between the two sides.

Mateta’s early goal, scored just five minutes into the game, proved decisive for Thierry Henry’s squad.

The Crystal Palace forward’s strike ended Argentina’s pursuit of Olympic gold in the French capital.

France will now face Egypt in the semi-final on Monday, August 5.

In the other semi-final fixture, Spain will compete against Morocco.
