Manchester United renew pursuit of Bayern’s Mazraoui

Manchester United have renewed their pursuit of Bayern Munich full-back Noussair Mazraoui following the collapse of his transfer to West Ham United.

Mazraoui was close to joining West Ham in a £15 million deal, but negotiations fell through at the last minute.

With West Ham now focusing on acquiring Aaron Wan-Bissaka, United have re-engaged in talks with Bayern for Mazraoui, ESPN confirmed.

Manager Erik ten Hag is eager to bolster both full-back positions but must first generate funds through player sales.

ESPN noted that United initially sought around £20 million for Wan-Bissaka, deterring interest from Galatasaray. The club has since reduced their asking price to £15 million.

Wan-Bissaka, currently on United’s preseason tour in the United States, has one year remaining on his contract.

Meanwhile, ten Hag has concerns over the left-back slot, with Tyrell Malacia sidelined by a knee injury for over a year and continuing his recovery at Carrington.

Mazraoui, 26, previously played under ten Hag at Ajax. The proposed deal with West Ham involved a £12.6 million upfront payment plus £2.3 million in add-ons.
