Napoli to improve offer for Brighton’s Billy Gilmour
Napoli are intensifying their pursuit of Billy Gilmour, preparing to submit an improved bid to Brighton for the former Chelsea player.
The Italian club see the 23-year-old Scottish midfielder as a key addition to Antonio Conte’s squad.
An initial offer of around €9.5 million was rejected by Brighton last week. Napoli are now looking to raise funds by selling Gianluca Gaetano to Cagliari, following his loan spell last season.
Negotiations between the clubs are progressing, with Cagliari expected to pay around €8 million, slightly below Napoli’s €12 million asking price.
Once the sale of Gaetano is finalized, Napoli plans to reinvest the funds into their squad, with Gilmour being a primary target, reports Football Italia.
The Partenopei are hopeful that an improved offer will secure the services of the midfielder, bolstering their lineup for the upcoming season.
