Riccardo Calafiori completes medical, set to begin five-year Arsenal journey

Riccardo Calafiori is set to join Arsenal having completed his medical in London, confirms Fabrizio Romano.

The 22-year-old defender will travel to the USA with his agents to finalize the deal, which includes signing a five-year contract.

Romano confirmed, “Medical done for Riccardo Calafiori who’s set to travel to USA from London together with his agents.

“Calafiori will sign five year deal as new Arsenal player in the US.”

Calafiori, who previously played for Bologna, attracted interest from several top European clubs including Juventus and Chelsea.

However, the Gunners secured the deal, agreeing to a fixed €40 million fee plus €5 million in add-ons and a future resale clause.

Last season, Calafiori was instrumental under Thiago Motta, helping Bologna achieve a historic Champions League qualification.
