‘Unacceptable’ – Chelsea fans divided over Chalobah’s exclusion from pre-season squad
Trevoh Chalobah has been omitted from Chelsea’s pre-season tour of the USA after weeks of training with the new manager Enzo Maresca.
The club is reportedly open to selling the defender this summer, with Crystal Palace one of the clubs expressing interest.
Chelsea have many centre-backs, including Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, and summer signing Tosin Adarabioyo, all selected for the tour.
Despite this, the decision to leave Chalobah behind has sparked controversy among the Blues fans.
On X (formerly Twitter), reactions were mixed. One fan commented, “Trev Chalobah not being on the tour is unacceptable and, frankly, disgraceful.
“He is under contract until 2028 and is being banished from the team despite featuring heavily last season. No way to treat somebody affiliated to the club since he was 8 years old.”
Another fan added, “No one can EVER make me hate Chalobah. If you’ve ever had the pleasure to meet/talk to him, he’s one of the purest hearts you’ll ever meet.
“Extremely underrated player who has always shown up when we needed him most. What this ownership is doing to him is an utter disgrace.”
🚨🔵 More on Trevoh Chalobah. Chelsea told him to stay home and not travel for pre season.
Tough call but club feel squad is heavy with Wesley Fofana, Axel Disasi, Tosin Adarabioyo in that position.

Conversely, some fans understood the club’s decision. One remarked, “Let’s not pretend the club has not repeatedly stated he has no long-term future here.
“As much as we may not like that, that’s the situation. If I were his advisors, I would suggest he moves on.”
Chalobah, who has been with Chelsea since he was eight, signed a professional contract in 2018.
After several loan spells, he made his senior debut in 2021, helping Chelsea to Super Cup glory against Villarreal.
Despite his contributions, he hasn’t established himself as a regular starter. Previously, he attracted interest from Bayern Munich and West Ham, but turned down all.
Chalobah signed a long-term deal in November 2022, making him more difficult to offload.
