Paris 2024 Olympics: Team Nigeria to participate in 11 games [see full list]
With just five days to go until the Paris 2024 Olympics, Team Nigeria is set to compete in 11 games, with about 205 countries.
This year’s tournament commences from July 26 to August 11, 2024, with a delegation of 88 athletes across various sports.
Team Nigeria will participate in the following events: athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, football, table tennis, taekwondo, weightlifting, and wrestling.
The Nigerian contingent includes world-class athletes such as Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume, and Aruna Quadri.
Others are Blessing Oborodudu, Favour Ashe, Favour Ofili, Odunayo Adekouroye, and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, and Aruna Quadri.
John Owan Enoh, Minister of Sports Development, is confident that the Nigerian team will give their best in the competition.
“Our athletes are putting in tremendous effort and dedication in their preparations.
“We are confident that with the support of every Nigerian, our team will excel and make the nation proud,” he said in a statement.
Enoh has high hopes for the team, aspiring for Nigeria to surpass its best Olympic performance achieved at the 1996 Atlanta Games.
