Manchester City reject opening bid for Ederson from Al Nassr

Manchester City have turned down an initial £25 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr for their goalkeeper Ederson.

Despite reports earlier this month suggesting that City were anticipating a bid, they have now rejected the proposal.

The club seeks a fee exceeding £30 million before considering Ederson’s departure.

Should the transfer occur, Ederson would join Cristiano Ronaldo and former City teammate Aymeric Laporte at Al Nassr.

Ederson, who joined Man City from Benfica in 2017, has been instrumental in their success, securing six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four Carabao Cups, and a Champions League.

He has made 332 appearances for the club, and his current contract runs until June 2026.

Recall City recently extended the contract of their second-choice goalkeeper, Stefan Ortega, until the end of the 2025/26 season.
