Euro 2024: Cucurella responds to Gary Neville’s ‘trash-talk’ after Euro 2024 victory

Chelsea and Spain’s left-back Marc Cucurella, had the last laugh after his stellar performances at Euro 2024 helped Spain to victory.

Cucurella suffered a pre-tournament criticism from former Manchester United star Gary Neville.

The former England international had cited Cucurella as a weak link in Spain’s squad, predicting their failure.

Defying expectations, Cucurella delivered impressive performances throughout the tournament, including a crucial assist during Spain’s 2-1 victory over England in the final.

His cross set up Mikel Oyarzabal’s winning goal, sealing Spain’s first title in the competition since 2012, and their fourth in all.

After the match, Cucurella took to Instagram to respond to Neville’s earlier remarks; “I think he (Cucurella) is one of the reasons I think Spain probably can’t go all the way.”

In response, the Chelsea star posted the quote from Neville, accompanied by the caption: “We went all the way Gary. Thanks for your support.”
