Newcastle United have decided not to proceed with their move for Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Despite initial talks, the £40 million price tag for the 27-year-old proved too high for the Magpies, according to Sky Sports.
Calvert-Lewin, with one year remaining on his contract at Goodison Park, has been on Newcastle manager Eddie Howe’s radar for long.
The England international, who has 11 caps, has netted 68 goals in 247 appearances for Everton since his debut in 2016.
