Romelu Lukaku has hinted at a potential return to his boyhood club, Anderlecht, amidst transfer speculations.
Recall the Belgian striker, currently contracted to Chelsea, spent last season on loan at AS Roma.
The end of the season has seen mouths wagging over the player’s future, with rumours linking him with a potential move to Saudi Arabia.
However, in an interview with RTL Sports, Lukaku was asked about the possibility of returning to Anderlecht, where he started his professional career.
He responded, “Of course. That will happen. That will happen, I think, much sooner than people think.”
Despite also being linked with a reunion with Antonio Conte at Napoli, Lukaku’s comments suggest a move back to Belgium could be on the cards.
Meanwhile, Chelsea’s decision on Lukaku’s future remains unclear, as the London club leave all permanent selling options open.
