Ansu Fati to reject Barcelona exit ahead of 2024/25 campaign

Barcelona star Ansu Fati is keen on staying at the Spanish club and fight for his place ahead of the 2024/25 season.

This comes after a challenging loan spell at Brighton & Hove Albion, where he struggled for playing time and faced criticism from former coach Roberto De Zerbi, Fati.

The 21-year-old Spanish international had initially sought the loan move to the Premier League to rejuvenate his career, which had been hampered by injuries over the past 18 months.

However, with Brighton opting not to activate his purchase clause and Fati missing out on a call-up for Euro 2024, he has returned to Barcelona earlier than anticipated.

Although there are speculations of another loan move within La Liga, Fati is keen to stay and prove himself under new Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick.

The young forward views the upcoming season as a crucial opportunity to reclaim his place in the squad and reach the potential he showed during his initial breakthrough at the club.

Flick, who will be assessing his squad in the coming weeks, is expected to give all players a clean slate.
