Chelsea have narrowed down their search for a new head coach to a shortlist of four candidates, ahead of their pre-season games.
On the list are; Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Frank, Enzo Maresca, and Kieran McKenna.
The Blues are said to be looking for a dynamic, forward-thinking coach who aligns with the club’s long-term ideology.
A good fit for the job is also expected to have experience coaching at a high level in English football.
De Zerbi is a strong contender, according Sky Sports, having recently parted ways with Brighton after leading them into European competition last season.
Frank has also impressed decision makers at Stamford Bridge, turning Brentford into a stable Premier League side.
Maresca and McKenna are both coming off successful seasons, having guided Leicester and Ipswich to Premier League promotion, respectively.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have ruled out a move for Xavi Hernandez, despite recent speculations, following his departure from Barcelona.
The club’s focus is hinged on securing a coach with proven success and experience within English football.
In addition to Chelsea’s interest, Kieran McKenna is also being eyed by Brighton and Manchester United as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag, should he be dismissed this summer.
