Lawyer set to give N150K to UTME students with above 300, gives condition
A Nigerian lawyer announces a cash reward of N150k to Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) students who scored above 300 and have an active social media account.
The lawyer identified as @egi_nupe___ announced on the microblogging platform X as a social experiment to know the implication of social media amidst the 77% failure rate recorded in 2024 by JAMB.
The lawyer increased his initial offer from N100K to N150K while specifying criteria for determining the winners.
However, the requirement of active social media accounts has sparked mixed reactions, with some people sceptical that any candidate will meet the conditions to claim the cash reward.
“I have 100k to give any JAMB candidate that scored above 300 with ACTIVE social media accounts. Either a boy or girl. Please help me find one. I want to experiment something,” he wrote.
A social media user buttressed the lawyer’s point, “Hahaha, most people are missing the point. The experiment here is to prove it is almost impossible to be so buried in “content creation/being active online” and still score so high.”
Another user added, “I see the trap… such a person can’t be active on social media. I know waiting my eyes see before I score 261 during my time 😂😂 omo ogbon ni Nupe lawyer yi.”
