I can accept a child that’s not mine – Comedian Baba Tee

Comedian and actor Babatunde Bernard Tayo, known as Baba Tee has recently discussed his views on paternity fraud in Nigeria.

Baba Tee’s statements shed light on the complicated subject of the continuing discussion on the need for DNA testing.

Baba Tee outlined a number of the reasons behind the high incidence of paternity fraud in the nation in a recent interview with TVC. He notably emphasized the lack of sexual satisfaction and upbringing as contributing factors to paternity fraud.

But he also made it clear that, in cases of paternity fraud, the woman is always to blame.

According to Baba Tee, even in cases where a woman’s behavior may have been affected by a man’s activities, the guilt cannot be placed on him.

He contested the idea that husband infidelity or domestic abuse might justify paternity fraud. Rather, he urged women to put their health first and get out of marriages if there is abuse or adultery.

He went on to demonstrate his humanitarian nature by saying that if his spouse expressed regret for cheating, he would accept a child who isn’t biologically his.

In his words:

“Women can’t use domestic violence or infidelity on the part of their spouses as an excuse for paternity fraud. If a man is not treating you well, walk out of the marriage.

“When it comes to paternity fraud, the woman is always at fault. You can’t shift the blame to the man because men don’t conceive. As a woman, if you know you can’t tolerate your husband’s maltreatment or infidelity, leave the marriage.

“Personally, there is nothing I can’t keep for a woman who is good to me. If a woman cheats on me and a child comes out of it and I find out, I will forgive her if she is remorseful. I will take the child as my own.”
