Bundesliga: Bayern give up two-goal lead as Heidenheim stun with 3-2 win

Heidenheim pulled off a stunning comeback to defeat Bayern Munich 3-2, putting Leverkusen in position of being crowned Bundesliga champions.

Trailing 2-0 at halftime, Heidenheim mounted a remarkable turnaround in the second half, with Kevin Sessa and Tim Kleindienst scoring within minutes of each other to level the score.

Kleindienst then struck again to secure a dramatic win for the home side.

Bayern Munich, who were aiming to bounce back after Borussia Dortmund’s defeat, faced another disappointing weekend.

Despite dominating possession, they failed to capitalize on their chances.

Although goals from Harry Kane and Gnabry gave them a comfortable lead, they were unable to hold onto it beyond the first 45 minutes.

With Leverkusen now just one win away from securing the Bundesliga title, Bayern’s hopes of extending their 11-year reign as champions hang in the balance.

Bayern will face Cologne in their next match, knowing that anything less than a win could see their title hopes dashed.
