Nigerian lady sentenced to jail for defaming Eniola Badmus
Nigerian lady, Blessing Okoye Nwakaego, has been sentenced to three years imprisonment for defaming actress, Eniola Badmus on social media.
The lady had made a bold accusation against the actress, claiming she was a pimp who gives out girls to politicians for a fee.
When confronted, she confessed she was made to do the video by a friend of hers, Fortune Ibe, who is still at large.
He promised to give her N200k and because she was in desperate need of money to pay her rent, she agreed to do the video.
Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos gave the ruling on Wednesday.
Okoye was convicted after she pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of cyberstalking.
However, since she showed remorse for her actions, she was given an option of paying a fine of N150,000 in lieu of jail time.
