Ratcliffe reportedly reconsiders selling McTominay following player’s form, attitude, offers pay rise
Scott McTominay has earned the admiration of Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS group, leading them to reconsider his future at Manchester United.
Despite having just over a year remaining on his current contract, the 27-year-old midfielder has caught the attention of club officials, with his recent performances.
Recall McTominay scored in United’s recent 4-3 win over Liverpool in the FA Cup.
Previously considered surplus to requirements, McTominay’s impressive form has now reinstated him as a valuable asset in the eyes of the club’s new football hierarchy.
His on-field contributions, combined with attitude off the pitch, have convinced the club’s decision-makers that he is integral to United’s future success.
As a result, McTominay is set to receive a substantial pay rise, with his weekly wages expected to double from £60,000 to £120,000.
In addition to his club form, McTominay has also excelled on the international stage, recently being named Scotland’s Player of the Year for 2023.
During the Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, the player scored seven goals in eight games, making him a top talent for the Scottish squad.
