Serie A: Osimhen’s new manager Calzona praises team progress, calls for “more work”

Francesco Calzona believes Napoli are “on the right track, but still a lot to be done” following their recent victories, including against Juventus.

The Sunday win against Juventus has reignited Napoli’s hopes of securing a top-five finish and a spot in European competition.

The new Napoli boss expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance after the match, stating their desire to improve as positive signs for the future.

The match against Juventus saw Kvicha Kvaratskhelia and Giacomo Raspadori play crucial roles, with Raspadori scoring the decisive goal from a rebound after Victor Osimhen’s penalty was saved.

 

Calzona praised both players for their contributions and noted their return to form after difficult periods in the season.

Napoli, who are under their third coach of the season, have shown improvement under Calzona, remaining unbeaten in recent matches.

Meanwhile, Calzona has emphasized the need for further improvement, particularly in possession and making more vertical passes.

Napoli face a tough challenge against Torino, and Barcelona in the Champions League next.

They will hope hope to carry on with their current form in both games, for favourable stands in the Serie A and, the elite European competition, respectively.
