Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund disappointed after Freiburg draw
Bayern Munich director Christoph Freund expressed disappointment following Bayern’s 2-2 draw against Freiburg on Friday.
The draw was a blow to Harry Kane’s hopes of winning a trophy, as Bayern missed a chance to close the gap on Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.
Despite leveling the game and taking the lead with goals from Mathys Tel and Jamal Musiala, Freiburg equalized late with Lucas Holer’s 87th-minute volley.
Kane, who left Tottenham in search of trophies, had a quiet game, unable to score when Bayern needed him most.
The draw leaves Leverkusen with a chance to extend their lead to 10 points with a game in hand.
Freiburg took the lead with a fine strike from Christian Gunter before Tel and Musiala put Bayern ahead.
However, Holer’s late goal ensured Freiburg earned a well-deserved point at the end of the day.
The draw comes at a crucial time for Bayern, with Thomas Tuchel’s side facing Lazio in the Champions League next.
Bayern’s director Freund, emphasized the importance of the upcoming game, stating, “Tuesday is a very important game, and we have to be there from the first minute.
“We have 90 minutes to change the tie and advance. We want to achieve that.”
Bayern will need to overturn a one-goal deficit from the first leg to progress in the Champions League.
