Official: Thomas Tuchel to part ways with Bayern Munich at end of season
Bayern Munich have announced that coach Thomas Tuchel will leave the club at the end of the season, a year earlier than his contract was due.
The decision, reached through amicable discussions between Tuchel and Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen, aims to facilitate a sporting realignment with a new coach for the 2024–25 season.
Dreesen emphasized the club’s commitment to achieving the maximum possible in the Champions League and the Bundesliga until the end of the season.
Meanwhile, Tuchel expressed dedication to ensuring maximum success for Bayern until the end of his tenure.
The decision comes as Bayern faces the possibility of not winning silverware for the first time in many years, prompting discussions about squad overhaul in the summer.
Bayern’s top target to replace Tuchel is reported to be Bayer Leverkusen head coach Xabi Alonso, with Hansi Flick and Zinedine Zidane also considered as possible successors.
While he is on Bayern’s radar, Flick has reiterated lack of interest in the Bayern job, dispite links.
