Serie A: Monza stun 10-man Milan 4-2 in late drama
Monza stunned Milan with a 4-2 win, coupled with a Luka Jovic’s 52 minutes red card for the Rossoneri.
Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic’s efforts weren’t enough to save Milan from Monza’s late onslaught in the Serie A encounter.
The match began with an intense pace, as Jovic’s header and Theo Hernandez’s shot tested Monza’s defense early on.
However, Monza seized the lead with Matteo Pessina’s penalty after Malick Thiaw’s foul, before Dani Mota Carvalho doubled their lead with a fine finish.
Milan’s hopes suffered a major blow when Jovic was sent off for an off-the-ball incident, in the second half, reducing them to 10 men.
Despite the setback, Giroud’s acrobatic volley and Pulisic’s strike brought Milan level.
But it didn’t take long for Monza to regain the lead through Warren Bondo’s solo effort, followed by Lorenzo Colombo’s clinical finish to seal the win.
