In a video circulating online, shopkeepers in a small market in the southwestern region of the country gathered to support a widow who collapsed due to hunger.
The viral video features the mother and her toddler, who revealed that they had gone without food for four days.
With her infant secured on her back, the woman collapsed from exhaustion and was immediately rallied around by market traders.
She recounted her efforts to sell bottled water to earn money to buy food before succumbing to fatigue.
Her eldest child supposedly 14 was present at the time of the incident and gave a narration of their struggle while shedding tears.
