Rio Ferdinand insists Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka not yet world class, despite recent records
Rio Ferdinand insists that Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka is not yet ‘world class’, despite the young star’s impressive form for the Gunners.
Saka, 22, has been a key player for Mikel Arteta’s side this season, scoring ten goals and providing two assists while creating numerous chances.
In Arsenal’s recent 6-0 win over West Ham, Saka scored twice, breaking a historic record as the youngest player in over 40 years to reach 50 goals for the club.
However, Ferdinand remains unconvinced of his world-class status.
Speaking on Vibe with Five, Ferdinand praised Saka’s talent but stated, “Not yet. Listen. I think Saka’s been unreal.
“I actually think he needs a bit of a rest, so many games for a young kid. But I think, it’s almost like what is world-class?
“He hasn’t done it in the Champions League, has he? I’m talking in the nitty-gritty stages. Saka’s top, don’t get me wrong. He’s not world-class yet,” Ferdinand added.
