Tinubu mourns APC Chieftain, Cairo Ojougboh who died while watching Super Eagles vs South Africa match
President Bola Tinubu has expressed sadness over the death of a Chieftain of All Progressive Congress, APC, Dr. Cairo Ojougboh who collapsed and died while watching the Super Eagles of Nigeria play against South Africa on Wednesday.
Ojougboh who represented the Ika Federal Constituency in House of Representatives, between 2003 – 2007, was also a former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.
It was gathered that the Delta born politician slumped immediately after Mokoena scored the penalty kick against Nigeria. Attempts to revive him proved abortive.
A family source who announced his death said, “He [Cairo Ojuogboh] died yesterday after South Africa was awarded a penalty. As soon as they scored, he screamed and collapsed. That was the end of him.”

The statement read: “It is with a heavy heart that President Bola Tinubu receives the news of the passing of Dr. Cairo Ojougboh, former Executive Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), who died on Wednesday.
“Dr. Ojougboh was a member of the House of Representatives (2003-2007) and a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State.
