AFCON 2023: Sanusi’s Injury casts doubt on Super Eagles’ lineup against South Africa

Super Eagles‘ defender Zaidu Sanusi may miss Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations semi-final match against South Africa’s due to injury.

Complete Sports reports that Sanusi did not train with his teammates in Bouake on Tuesday night as they concluded preparations for the Wednesday encounter.

The left-back is said to have been dealing with injuries during the ongoing AFCON 2023 finals.

Despite his injury woes, the 26-year-old has made five appearances for the Super Eagles in Cote d’Ivoire.

However, his performances have faced criticism for not meeting expectations in the competition.

Nigeria will duel with Bafana Bafana for a spot in the AFCON final at Stade de la Paix on Wednesday (today), by 6:00 PM.
