Palmer redeems Carabao Cup error, hands Chelsea fourth consecutive EPL win in three years
Cole Palmer’s penalty gave Chelsea their fourth consecutive Premier League win against West London rivals Fulham on Saturday.
The narrow win came after a wasteful Chelsea game against Middlesbrough during the week, a match they lost 1-0, after several missed opportunities by Palmer.
However, it was the young England forward that made the difference for the Blues in the early kickoff encounter.
His fine pass to Raheem Sterling led to a penalty in first-half stoppage time, which he confidently converted after tempting Fulham’s Issa Diop into a foul.
Fulham, coming off their own Carabao Cup defeat, put in a flat performance, as Chelsea dominated the game, until the second half stoppage time.
While the Blues took the possession, they failed to create clear chances, while missing a couple, including Conor Gallagher’s strike that hit the woodwork.
The match eases the tension on Chelsea’s coach Mauricio Pochettino, who recent trended on X to be sacked.
