La Liga: Sevilla appoint new President as former steps down after 10 years
Sevilla have bid farewell to their former President Jose Castro, who served the club for 10 years, before stepping down from the role.
The club in a tweet on X, announced the appointment of Jose Maria del Nido Carrasco, formerly the vice-president, as his successor.
During Castro’s tenure, Sevilla experienced both glorious moments, as well as challenges, with a notable achievement being their seventh Europa League title win in May.
The new president, del Nido Carrasco, is also no stranger to the club, having previously acted as de facto president, according to Football Espana.
His official appointment is significant to Sevilla’s history, as he becomes the second member of his family to hold the prestigious position at the club, following in the footsteps of Jose Maria del Nido Benavente (2002-2013).
