Who is Ima Alozie? A review!
Recently, we’ve heard of a Nigerian breakout star, Ima Alozie on the musical scene but who exactly is he and what type of music does he sing?
Style:- (Rating: 7/10)
In a recently cited video, he called himself the Ronaldo of music.
“My style of music? I do everything.I rap, I sing, I’m like the Ronaldo of music.”
Often, we hear artists make outrageous claims about their musical prowess but one thing we are certain of is that Ima Alozie is different. He is like a jack of all trades and he is pushing the narrative that he is the master of all, so far..he isn’t doing his brand any harm.
Trying to create different genres of music is a bold call but the sustainability is where we feel he would struggle because how on earth can an artist attempt to go out of their comfort zone repeatedly? we’d have to wait and watch this artist who thinks he can do it all…only time will tell.
Songwriting skills (Rating 9/10)
Going through his Facebook page, it is obvious he is a writer and an editor but songwriting is a different skill to book-writing yet they seem similar.
We love how he captures his thoughts in a song without making it boring and how he blends his messages with some catchy hooks and phrases that can’t be overemphasized.
Lavender Album:- Rating (7.5/10)
As of the time of writing this review, Ima Alozie has just given us half of the album and we think it’s a lovely piece of art for a debutant.. and having the guts to jump on different genres is bold but might also hurt his fanbase, but according to him.
“I purposely played around a lot of genres, I wanted something different…it would have been easier to sing a particular kind of genre 16 times and hope one blows, but why would I subdue my creative side?…there’s R&B, reggae, Gospel, rap, afrobeat, country music..et al.”
He has shown efficiency, and his intentions are clear but we wish him luck because sustainability is majorly needed in propelling oneself musically.
“Gosh”, “A god is awake”, and “Chameleon friend” are true life stories while “I Love Me” is motivational. “Call Me”, and “Go Low (Annabella), have catchy beats, and “Strike It” is outrightly naughty… “Amen” on the other hand is all about positive pronouncements.
Conclusion:- Ima Alozie seems to be a different breed musically, his confidence in his ability is evident but music is all about publicity and we feel his image will be strengthened when he aligns with stronger management.
