EPL: Tottenham thrash Newcastle 4-1 in top-four clash
Tottenham Hotspur ran riot against Newcastle United, securing a well deserved 4-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The game started with Newcastle’s Alexander Isak narrowly missing a golden opportunity, as he failed to convert from a yard out due to the defensive efforts of Ben Davies.
However, Tottenham quickly seized control of the match, with Destiny Udogie opening the scoring for Spurs in the 26th minute, slotting home from close range.
Richarlison extended the lead 12 minutes later with a skillful finish past Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.
The Brazilian striker wasn’t satisfied with just one goal and completed his brace in the 60th minute.
The scoring spree would not end without Son Heung-min registering a goal at least. He converted a penalty in the 85th minute.
Although Joelinton managed to score a late consolation goal for Newcastle, it did little or nothing to prevent Spurs from sealing all three points.
