Senators donate N109M December salaries to victims of Kaduna bombing

The entire 109 Senators of the 10th Senate collectively contributed their one-month salaries, totalling N109 million, to aid the victims of a bombing accident in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This comes days after the military accidentally bombed a community with claims of being fed the wrong intel for the operation.

On Sunday the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, during a visit to the Kaduna Government House with a high-powered delegation of the Senate announced the generous gesture to the victims. The Senators were warmly received by the state governor, Senator Uba Sani.

In a statement by his Special Adviser Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, Senator Barau explained that the donated funds would be transmitted to the state governor for subsequent distribution to the affected victims.

Expressing gratitude, the governor thanked the Senators for their donation, which amounted to their December salaries.

The Senate delegation, including Senate leader Senator Micheal Opayemi Bamidele, Chief Whip Senator Ali Ndume, Minority Leader Senator Abba Moro, Deputy Minority Leader Senator Kamorudeen Olarere, Senator Abdulhamid Malam-Madori, Senator Aliyu Ikra Bilbis, Senator Ibrahim Bomoi, Senator Ibrahim Lamido, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, Senator Victor Umeh, Senator Muntari Dandutse, Senator Lawal Usman, and Senator Emmanuel Udende, also visited the victims at the Barau Dikko Hospital.
