35-year-old pregnant woman brutally killed just 24 hours to delivery in South Africa
A 35-year-old pregnant woman, Busisiwe Ngubo, became one of the latest victims in a series of brutal killings targeting women in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
Ngubo, who was expecting twins, was discovered lifeless just a kilometer away from her residence in the Ehlanzeni area within the Ubuhlebezwe local municipality on August 14, 2023.
KwaZulu-Natal provincial social development MEC, Nonhlanhla Khoza, confirmed the shocking tragedy in a statement released on August 15, 2023.
It was revealed that Ngubo had left her home after receiving a call from her boyfriend, who happened to be a police officer. Tragically, Ngubo had been strangled, and her lifeless body was found abandoned on the roadside.
This devastating incident occurred on the eve of what was supposed to be a momentous occasion – the birth of her twins, which was scheduled for August 15, 2023.
Expressing her condolences, MEC Khoza extended her sympathy to Ngubo’s grieving family and friends. She conveyed the deep sorrow felt by the entire community in the wake of this senseless act of violence.
“Our thoughts are with the grieving family and friends during this trying period,” she said.
Khoza passionately pleaded with law enforcement agencies to swiftly and comprehensively investigate this heinous crime.
Khoza underscored the critical importance of eradicating violence against women and fostering an environment of equality, respect, and safety.
