2027: “Seyi Tinubu didn’t clash with Lagos Speaker Obasa” — Lagos APC

The Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has addressed the swirling rumors regarding a purported rift between Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, and the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.

This response comes in the context of the approaching 2027 governorship election, during which party unity and collaboration are deemed crucial.

The party’s leadership dismissed the reports, emphasizing that there is no conflict between Seyi Tinubu and Mudashiru Obasa, nor among any other potential aspirants within the party.

They reiterated the importance of maintaining unity and collaboration as they move forward in their preparations for the upcoming elections.

Speaking to Daily Trust, Seye Oladejo, the APC’s Publicity Secretary in Lagos, attributed the rumours to opposition groups seeking to create unnecessary controversy.

He reiterated that the party has not issued any official statements regarding the 2027 governorship race, as it is currently focused on governance and the upcoming 2025 local government elections.

The party has not spoken about the 2027 election. This is the time for impactful governance, not needless politicking to heat the polity,” Oladejo said.

He added that there is no division between Seyi Tinubu and Speaker Obasa, stressing that the opposition is simply trying to manipulate the situation for political gain.

In response, the Lagos PDP Chairman, Philip Aivoji, also denied any involvement in the matter, distancing his party from the speculations.

Anyone behind such allegations is on their own,” he stated.
