UCL: Valverde’s late beauty keeps Madrid’s hopes alive in 3-3 draw against City

Manchester City and Real Madrid battled to a thrilling 3-3 draw in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final clash.

The excitement began early as Bernardo Silva put City ahead in the second minute, capitalizing on a moment of hesitation from Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin.

However, Real Madrid responded few minutes later, scoring two goals in quick succession to take the lead.

The first came from a Ruben Dias own goal, courtesy of a deflected shot from Eduardo Camavinga, followed by a quick counter-attack finished by Rodrygo.

Yet, Real Madrid refused to concede defeat. Federico Valverde volleyed home a fine equaliser to ensure that the spoils were shared between the two sides.

With the first leg ending in a draw, both teams now look ahead to the second leg in England.
