Thomas Muller seeks wage increase to extend Bayern Munich stay

Following contract extension talks between Thomas Müller and Bayern Munich, the forward is reportedly desiring a wage increase.

Muller’s current contract with Bayern will expire in the summer of 2024, with other known clubs like Manchester United showing interest in the 34-year-old.

However, after Manuel Neuer’s contract extension, where he secured an annual salary of €20 million, Muller is reportedly looking for a similar arrangement.

The German forward, who recently spent nearly a year recovering from injury, aims to stay in Bavaria but expects financial terms to be competitive.

Meanwhile, Bayern president Herbert Hainer has expressed optimism about the ongoing discussions with Müller.

He said, “We are having discussions with him; I am also confident, and I really hope that Thomas will stay with us.”

Although Muller is currently facing competition for regular playing time under coach Thomas Tuchel, especially with the presence of Jamal Musiala, his past records credits him with experience and quality, despite the age.
