Sam Smith Smashes Two World Records

Sam Smith‘s heartache has won him even more accolades, this time in the form of two Guinness World Records.

The 23-year-old singer-songwriter has been officially honoured for his Spectre theme ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ becoming the first ever James Bond song to reach number one on the UK single chart.

His second record is for debut album In The Lonely Hour, which has now spent 69 consecutive weeks in the UK Top 10 since its release in May 2104.

Smith broke the previous record of 63 weeks, which was held by Emeli Sandé’s debut record Our Version of Events.

“This is so amazing. It’s such an honour to be recognised by Guinness World Records,”

he said.

“It’s been an unbelievable eighteen months. The album exceeded even my wildest dreams thanks to the incredible support of my fans, and to record the first ever Bond theme to reach No.1 in the UK is a real privilege.”
